Description
Our client is looking for a buyer in the Monmouth County area. They will play a crucial role in the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of equipment, materials, and supplies. This individual will collaborate with vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain positive relationships to secure favorable terms for the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of components, industry trends, and supply chain management.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and new vendors.
Negotiate terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
Collaborate with technical teams to understand equipment specifications and requirements.
Analyze costs and market trends to recommend cost-effective purchasing strategies.
Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or reliability.
Create purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
Track and manage order statuses to ensure on-time delivery of materials and equipment.
Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet project requirements.
Implement efficient inventory control practices to minimize waste and excess stock.
Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance standards.
Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
Requirements
-Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role is required.
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
-Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
-MS Excel knowledge required
-Customer Service
-Proficient in Excel
-Wholesale distribution experience preferred
