　　OverviewABOUT THE POSITION

　　Chief Engineer | Hauppauge, NY

　　VHB is seeking a Chief Engineer with 15+ years of experience to serve our client and project base in the New York Region. The successful candidate will be based in our Long Island office located in Hauppauge and will serve as a senior resource for the ongoing development, implementation, and monitoring of Quality Assurance/Quality Control and Risk Management processes and initiatives in collaboration with key leaders of VHB's New York Region.

　　Responsibilities

　　Help build and lead a multi-dimensional team of land development engineering professionals, including participation in recruitment and hiring of Land Development professionals

　　Lead a core group of active participants to promote communication and establish priorities and processes as needed to deliver consistent quality on all projectsCommunicate and synthesize best practices through interaction with other regional and corporate QA/QC and Risk Management leadersConsult with clients, project team members and stakeholders as a trusted adviser on design, technical and permitting issuesProvide technical and career guidance as a mentor to staffServe as Project Executive for large, complex projects as needed, providing coordination and communication between service linesAssist with Resource Planning - get the right people on the right projects, facilitate work share with other offices/regionsSkills and Attributes

　　B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field of study15+ years of Civil Engineering design experience requiredNY Professional Engineer (PE) license requiredRecognized leader within the industry as demonstrated by participation and leadership in professional and industry associations and by general reputation in the market as demonstrated by positive and solid referencesOur best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Hauppauge, NY is $155,000-$215,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
