　　Position Summary

　　Certified Welder for the GTFSD Glendale facility, an FAA repair station for fuel nozzles used in commercial and military aerospace and industrial applications.

　　With direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing complex manual and automated welds using a large variety of equipment on high temperature, high strength alloy metals. Must become certified to AWS D17.1:2001.

　　Essential Functions

　　Following established procedures, responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

　　Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand.

　　Prepare parts for welding including cleaning, de-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture Interpret blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications and quality directives.

　　Perform certified welding operations based on repair needs.

　　Make parameter adjustments, within the limits of procedure, to fine tune the process in order to achieve conformance standards.

　　Set up and maintain the set-up to assure repeatability. May also set up and maintain the set-up of others.

　　Sections sample hardware for conformance and achieves first article.

　　Works closely with supervision and is responsible for maintaining an inventory of welding materials and supplies.

　　Observe all safety rules and maintain a foreign object damage (FOD) free work area.

　　May be required to run automatic weld machine.

　　Perform other related responsibilities

　　Qualifications

　　HS diploma or equivalent.

　　At least 3-5 years of welding or related experience

　　Able to become certified to AWS D17.1.2001.

　　Able to read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols and quality requirements.

　　Must demonstrate manual dexterity.

　　Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

　　Must be able to read and understand blueprints.

　　Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.

　　Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

　　Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
