CertifiedNursing Assistants (CNAs) at WVHUG provide direct and indirect patientcare, following standards set by the American Nurses Association;gerontological nursing practice; federal, state and VeteransAdministration regulations; and the mission, philosophy, policies andprocedures of this agency. Job duties include providing care per awritten care plan to help meet the needs of WVHUG members, includingcare to help maintain the demented member at the highest functionallevel. CNAs work as an integral part of the health care team, under thedirection of licensed nursing staff, with limited supervision by aNursing Supervisor. Core Shifts Available: AM 1st shift - 6:30 a.m. to3:00 p.m. PM 2nd shift - 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. NOC 3rd shift - 10:30p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Full-time positions require the availability to workvarying hours and/or overtime shifts as assigned. Job duties require theability to assist in patient mobility efforts, stand and/or walk up to75% of eight-hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visualobservations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, usespecial safety equipment, and wear protective clothing. Employment inthis position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis(TB) skin test. Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct acriminal background check prior to any offer of employment.
