What You Can Expect
The Category Manager, Contract Manufacturing and M&A leads global Category Strategies and initiatives for Contract Manufacturing (including M&A), Outsourced Services, Finished Goods, Electronic PCBAs, and Electronic components.
How You'll Create Impact
Implements global Category and supplier strategies to achieve challenging year-over-year cost reduction results.
Manages the relationship with the supplier, define optimal KPIs, works through complex delivery service coordination, knowledge of supplier production schedules across global sites.
Work closely with Finance on the make vs. buy pricing models, manages Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s) process to supplier(s) and minimizes cost impacts.
Negotiates price and terms of outsourcing agreements.
Evaluates / implements M&A opportunities as well as to assist suppliers (or targets) in resolving issues.
Interfaces regularly with Supplier Quality Managers to assure alignment with purchasing controls, and help resolve issues between Zimmer Biomet and the supplier.
Internal/External customer focus to address complex issues.
Investigates and analyzes supplier’s financial condition, technical competence, facilities, and production techniques to ensure adequate supplier capacity and capability.
Develops contingency plans for assigned commodities and/or strategic suppliers to mitigate risk.
Understands inventory impacts, optimizes inventory levels, strategies and communicates potential inventory reduction / increases to meet customer demand.
Understands financial analyses, set’s standard pricing with finance, helps with review of Purchase Price Variance (PPV) reports, helps resolve discrepant invoices.

What Makes You Stand Out
Significant knowledge and experience in world-class contract manufacturing and electronics sourcing practices and techniques
Active Strategic Intelligence / curiosity to learn new areas.
Experienced in M&A, Electronics / electronic components, Contract Manufacturing, and Sourcing
Strong negotiation, contracting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required.
Project management and teaming skills.
Basic competency in developing “Should-cost” models
Experience in executing “Make vs. Buy” analysis.
Commodity hedging experience
Experience managing and/or optimizing Tier II supplier relationships of finished goods sourcing
Demonstrated competencies in change management.
Your Background
A minimum of a BS in an Engineering discipline or Business Administration is required; MBA preferred
A minimum of 7 years of sourcing experience, diverse project management and/or consulting type experience is required
Travel Expectations
Up to 20%Base Salary Compensation Range: $120,000 - $150,000 USD
