Position Title: Category Development Manager (12 Month FTC)
Location: Various
Reports to: Senior Category Development Manager
The Category Development Manager works closely with the Senior Category Development Manager and cross functional teams in the planning and execution of commercial strategies that drive growth for the Category and Customers. In order to accomplish this, the Category Development Manager shares multi-channel expertise, analytics, and category intelligence to enable the development of management information, customer stories and optimization of the Go To Market strategy within our channels and retail partners.
This position is 12 month fixed term contract.
Specific Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Trade and Channel Strategy
· Develops plans and projects aligned to trade and channel strategic priorities
· Supports overall integrity of trade plans for area of responsibility
· Provides business analysis input into go-to-market strategies
· Monitors Category trends and dynamics
· Develops strategies and tactics using syndicated and household panel data
Pricing into Account Specific Plans
· Deploys pricing and promotional guidelines
· Ensures promotional pricing guardrails are maintained
· Monitors promotional pricing activities
· Analyzes trade spend effectiveness
Business Management
· Supports the Home Category with segment specific requests and input requests
· Supports the budget development through the Annual Planning cycle
· Tracks and reports on performance results and recommends actions
· Recommends SKU assortment priorities
· Recommends and executes responses to budget deviations (e.g., Close the Gap)
· Coordinates information flow & requests
Customer Stories Line Reviews
· Shares Category expertise and Builds-in store category innovation into category discussions
· Partners with Category Management to translate category expertise into effective customer stories and sales strategies
Line Management
· Manages a team of two ( one Analysts and one Assistant) as part of the overall Category Development Team.

Key Qualifications:
· Strong Analytical skills with proven experience of applying these for management information and strategy development.
· Demonstrated knowledge of brand management and marketing philosophies, tools and processes.
· Demonstrated success in leading Category Management or NPD listing engagements with a major retailer
· Strategic thinking, self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines
· People Management experience
· Advanced analytical skills and computer software proficiency (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc. Power Query and Power BI development skills an advantage)
· Strong familiarity with syndicated data, measures and software (e.g. NPD, Nielsen, GFK, Circana, Consumer Panel, etc.)
· Familiarity with space management principles and software (e.g. JDA, Spaceman, etc.)
· Must be able to travel 10-20% of the time.

· Direct and perform analysis across a wide variety of category business issues and make fact based recommendations
