FTE: 0.500000 Shift: Shift 1 Hours: 0700-1530 Job Summary: TheCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA), under the direction and supervisionof a Registered Nurse, provides delegated age appropriate care in aculturally and ethnically sensitive manner. The CNA assists patientswith the tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment relatedto basic nursing skills, personal care skills and basic restorativeservices. The CNA practices and performs what was taught during theirCNA training and certification or learned during basic nursing coursesat an accredited school for professional nurses. The CNA may be asked toprovide continuous safety observation. This job reports to the NurseManager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on dutyon each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:High School diploma or equivalent is required. Incumbents in theposition prior to October 1, 2007 may substitute this educationalrequirement with the following statement - Ability to read, write andcommunicate complicated verbal and written communications at a levelnormally acquired through completion of a high schooleducation.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin Nursing AssistantCertification is required, otherwise must be currently enrolled in anursing program and able to provide documentation from an accreditedschool for professional nurses indicating successful completion of thebasic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by theState of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of oneacute care medical/surgical clinical rotation. American HeartAssociation (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS)or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
