Summary The Canteen Operator is responsible for the operation of a food service facility (canteen) OR a mobile food truck servicing various government work sites located within PSNS & IMF and NBK/Bremerton. Responsibilities Open and secure facility (canteen OR mobile truck). Operate a cash register according to standard cash control procedures. Requisition, stocking and accounting of inventory. Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards. Perform daily routine cleaning for a sanitary operation. May assist in production department. Perform related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Successful completion of National Agency (NACI) background check required. Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Must be a US citizen. Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record are required. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate. A minimum of one year of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the work of the position. Must be able to work a schedule that meets the needs of the program. Light to moderate physical effort is required. Frequently lifts and moves objects. Dollies and loading carts are available when needed. Constant standing, bending, stooping and reaching. Qualifications Six months of experience as a Cashier. Current Washington State Food Handlers card and valid driver's license and clean driving record are required. Must be reliable and able to communicate in English. Education Additional Information Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
