Description We are offering a position in the service industry located in GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan. The job function is that of a Customer Service Representative, providing exceptional service within a school transportation department. This role requires a dedicated and adaptable individual who can efficiently manage multiple tasks and provide reliable service to parents, students, and school staff.
Responsibilities
• Efficiently dispatch school buses, ensuring timely arrival and departure to designated locations
• Utilize computerized systems to track routes, update schedules, and communicate with drivers
• Handle a high volume of incoming calls from parents, school staff, and drivers, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally
• Collaborate closely with school administrators and transportation staff to coordinate transportation logistics, including special accommodations for students with unique needs
• Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills to address route changes, delays, and other unforeseen circumstances, minimizing disruptions to transportation services
• Cultivate positive relationships with parents and students, fostering trust and confidence in the transportation department's services
• Proactively identify and resolve issues, employing effective de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations with diplomacy and empathy
• Maintain accurate records of communication, incidents, and resolutions, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with departmental protocols
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance customer service skills, transportation knowledge, and proficiency with dispatching systems
• Adhere to established policies and procedures, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in all aspects of job performance.
This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. Skills required for this role include Customer Service and handling Inbound Outbound Calls. Requirements • Proven experience in a customer service role for a minimum of one year
• Demonstrated ability to handle both inbound and outbound calls efficiently
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to resolve complaints and inquiries
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building customer relationships
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
• Proficiency in using computer software and systems, particularly customer relationship management (CRM) software
• High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive work environment
• Willingness to learn about and stay updated on the company’s products and services
• Flexibility to work in different shifts, including weekends and holidays, if required
• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
