C-26 Transport Aircraft Mechanic AM-3 (FAA A&P) Possesses senior level experience, special certifications, qualifications, and/or expertise.
Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Coordinates, plans, schedules, supervises, and performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-26 aircraft.
Is responsible for all aspects of the servicing, repairing, and modifying aircraft systems at assigned site to ensure continued airworthiness, with a focus on troubleshooting.
Manages and/or performs tasks associated with the maintenance electrical systems, engines, flight controls and/or airframe components. Mentors and trains junior colleagues as required.
Capable of performing operational checks, troubleshooting, and isolation of malfunctions in aircraft
Experience in repairing or replacing components based on test results following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
Minimum Requirements:
High School degree or equivalent required.
Valid FAA A&P Certificate is Required, which reflects compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.
Ten (10) plus years of C-26 Metroliner experience is Required; Thirteen (13) years of C-26 experience is preferred for the AM-3 position (per Union CBA).
A valid Driver’s License is required.
Tools are Required; must provide own Tools and Toolbox. Tools must be shadowed and etched with PID.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility, and to obtain a US Govt Secret Clearance.
May be required to work and/or rotate for a multiple shift operation.
Preferred /Physical Qualifications
Ability to obtain a Valid US Passport for OCONUS Travel if and when required for operational necessity. (Deploy to overseas locations to support operations requirements, if required due to operational necessity (based on seniority).
Be physically able to perform aircraft mechanic duties.
Ability to move freely about the interior of aircraft and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time. Pull, push, lift to 50 lbs.
Able to pass physical medical examination as required.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
