The Engineering HR Shared Services (HRSS) team in The GraingerCollege of Engineering seeks applicants for a HR Coordinatorposition. This position is responsible for HR operations related tosearch and hiring activities, employee relations, and other relatedduties in support of world-class engineering academic and administrativeunits. The HRSS team is a vibrant, welcoming group of individuals whoare willing to invest in training and professional development for yourlong-term success in the field of HR at the Urbana-Champaign campus.
Duties & Responsibilities
Consult with and provide guidance to supervisors and employees inemployee relations, performance management, professional development,etc.
Coordinate all search and hiring activities for faculty and staffpositions working closely with a variety of stakeholders throughout thehiring lifecycle.
Communicate and ensure compliance with campus, college, and departmentalleave practices and policies.
Facilitate robust, employee-focused onboarding and exit activities.
Process and coordinate job transactions, visa management,compliance/reporting efforts, etc. in support of the overall employeelifecycle.
Contribute to the HRSS team, share best practices, and help driveeffective and efficient changes for the overall success of GraingerEngineering faculty and staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resource Administration, Management,Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations,Business Administration or a field closely related to the position.
Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience performingprofessional-level human resources duties.
Demonstrated experience interpreting HR policies and making subsequentrecommendations.
Demonstrated experience providing HR services in a university setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Master\'s degree in or related to the aforementioned fields of study.
SHRM-CP, PHR, or related certification.
Experience providing HR services at the University of Illinois.
Experience with recruitment and talent management practices.
Experience with HRIS applications and workflows.
Experience with employees relations and professional developmentefforts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple,complex duties simultaneously.
Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focusedteam environment.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills.
Practical experience with UIUC business and HR policies, procedures, andapplication experience.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5020 - Human Resource Associateposition, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is assoon as possible after the closing date. The minimum salary is \$65,000for this position and is commensurate with experience andqualifications. Hybrid work options may be available for this positionafter an initial training period, but with the requirement that onsiteavailability may be needed at any time with short notice. Workauthorization is not available for this position.
