Job Summary/Basic Function:

Business Analyst, Associate OR Business Analyst: Work alongsidepersonnel in the office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to help themfully utilize all tools provided, mainly the student information system(PeopleSoft) and U.S. Department of Education systems. The businessanalyst assists employees in proper processing procedures, systemstroubleshooting, streamlining processes, developing documentation, andprototyping new functionality. The business analyst acts as a liaisonwith Boise State\'s Office of Information Technology and Financial Aidand Scholarship staff.

Business Analyst: Fully competent and productive professionalcontributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures tocomplete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope andcomplexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercisesjudgment within defined guidelines and practices to determineappropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry levelprofessionals and/or support employees.
Essential Functions:
60% of Time the Business Analyst, Associate OR Business Analystmust:
Manage the PeopleSoft Financial Aid Module.Create queries to gather data to evaluate solutions to businessproblems and contribute to the support of process improvement.Determine, implement, test, and evaluate new functionality, patches,bugs, fixes, upgrades, and regulatory releases. Communicate andnegotiate installation dates with other PeopleSoft users.Work with leadership and team leads to collect and collateinformation and sift relevant data for system recommendations toaccommodate regulatory updates, financial aid reporting (FISAPreporting, for example), and directives from executive leadership.Develop a network of contacts and resource with whom to consultwhen evaluating or analyzing systems issues.Will provide support within the Financial Aid and Scholarship officeto customer service, production, and scholarships teams to improvestudent experience. In addition, collaborate and negotiate withfunctional leads of other offices to ensure financial aid needs areconsidered where financial aid processes may be impacted.Respond to functional user queries by providing support andassistance in the definition or the resolution of the problems forapplication-specific staff. Keep functional users and the leadershipteam up-to-date on daily and weekly progress of projects, opentickets, and error resolution.Business Analyst only:
Critically evaluate the student information system using multiplesources and clearly document and implement system setup, maintenance,enhancements, and modifications. Research and analyze deliveredfunctionality and compare potential modifications to determine qualitysystem recommendations.
