  Project Description: The Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works has awarded our team the contract to provide Construction Engineering and Inspection services for the new South-Dade Bus Maintenance Facility located on a 20-acre site located at SW 127 Ave and Biscayne Drive. The Project will include a two-story maintenance and operations facility with approximately 54k s.f. for maintenance parts storage and approximately 27k s.f. for dispatch, driver, and training areas. Bus parking deck will house approximately 100 articulated Battery Electric Buses.

  Responsibilities:

  Coordinating and controlling all construction management activities including CPM scheduling knowledge, claims management, project coordination, risk management, and quality management on the project.

  Communicating and interfacing with internal and external team members and authorities involved in the planning, design, and execution of construction activities.

  Managing, monitoring, and tracking project objectives including scope of work, schedule, and budget.

  Ensuring that construction is completed in accordance with the Contract Documents and CDM Smith Quality Standards.

  Managing resources and budget effectively contributing to the overall profitability of the firm.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Bachelor's Degree.

  10 years of relevant experience.

  Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

  OSHA 30 certification.

  Understanding of survey verification deliverables

  Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Bluebeam, & Adobe, mobile devices such as tablet computers, and CM software programs.

  Familiarity with engineering, architectural, building and construction documents.

  Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to maintain good working relationships with project team, clients, and contractors.

  Ability to anticipate problems, proactively develop solutions to overcome those problems, and discern when escalation is necessary.

  Some flexibility to work hours dictated by the Contractor’s schedule

  Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and available to work Onsight when the contractor is working.

  Skills and Abilities:

  Excellent knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods. Advanced knowledge of construction products, details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards. Demonstrates good leadership skills with an ability to develop and grow staff. Expert time and project management skills. Excellent organizational skills to balance and prioritize work. Proven ability to analyze, problem-solve and mitigate risks. Proficient business development, marketing, and sales skills.

  Background Check and Drug Testing Information:

  CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as “CDM Smith”) reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. In addition, CDM Smith may conduct drug testing for designated positions. Background checks are conducted after an offer of employment has been made in the United States. In addition, during employment individuals may be required by CDM Smith or a CDM Smith client to successfully complete additional background checks, including motor vehicle record as well as drug testing.

  Additional Compensation:

  All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.

  Work Location Options:

  Successful candidate will be required to work in office and field locations as needed.

  Driver's License Requirements:

  An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
