　　POSITION TITLE: Custodian

　　QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

　　2. Health and physical ability to complete assigned responsibilities 3. A good work record. 4. Previous custodial or related work experience preferred.REPORTS TO: Head Custodian/Building Principal

　　SUPERVISES: No one.

　　POSITION GOAL: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play and develop.

　　PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

　　Keeps buildings and grounds neat and clean on a regular schedule or at other times as necessary.

　　Regulates heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and with the use of energy conservation measures, to insure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.

　　Checks daily to ensure that all exit doors are closed and locked and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.

　　Maintains a regular schedule of preventive maintenance work on all equipment, the buildings and grounds, making repairs where able, and working with the building principal/head custodian to have other repairs completed.

　　Performs such yard keeping chores as grass cutting, tree trimming, and the like, as necessary, to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.

　　Reports immediately to the building principal/head custodian any damage to school property.

　　Moves equipment and supplies within the building and on the grounds as required by various activities and as directed by the building principal/head custodian.

　　Complies with laws and procedures for the storage, handling, and disposal of trash, chemicals, rubbish and waste.

　　Has good working relationships with all other persons.

　　Knowledge of how to safely use, post notice and dispose of chemicals.

　　Attends to other such duties as my be assigned by the building principal/head custodian.

　　TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year established by the Board of Education. (260 day contract)

　　Pay rate and other benefits as per the negotiated contract.

　　EVALUATION: Evaluation procedure shall follow Clarke Community School District board policy 411.7.
