Benefits and Payroll CoordinatorThe Benefits and Payroll Coordinator will assist with payroll processing and benefits administration, record keeping and reporting in compliance with legal and company policies for the United States and Canada Business Unit. They will also provide support to employees as needed. This position reports to the Payroll Supervisor.Key Responsibilities and DutiesPayroll Duties:Collect, verify, and input payroll data from Personnel Action Forms, tax documents, and new hire documents.Compute wages and overtime payments.Compute and process adjustments as needed (i.e., Retro payments, Garnishments)Verify payroll trial registers for accuracy and troubleshooting discrepancies.Provide information required by courts, unemployment claims, government agencies, etc.Maintains employee and payroll records in all required formats and in compliance with state, local, federal laws.Benefits Duties:Back up to Benefits Specialist.Review and approve benefit changes weekly.Invoice vendors.Enter weekly 401K updates.Respond to employee questions/phone calls regarding benefits.Enter and track Leave of Absence and Return to Work.Bi-Weekly processing of benefit eligibility files.New Hire/Termination Reporting.Other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceAssociate degree is preferred.1-3+ years of payroll and/or benefits experience, including processing payroll/benefits administration.Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesKnowledge of payroll/benefits regulations and the self-motivation to independently research guidelines.Ability to communicate payroll/benefit changes or corrections in an easily understood manner with employees and various third-party agencies.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.Knowledge of current systems and databases, including Microsoft office products such as Word, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.Experience in Workday, Kronos and or Infinium is a plus.Ability to act independently within defined policies and procedures.Work EnvironmentOffice setting with partial remote (partial remote work not guaranteed to continue).Austin Powder is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer and is committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
