Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
The job duties of an Automated System Technician are to implement and maintain automated solutions equipment to optimize performance and uptime. To be successful, an Automated System Technician must utilize technical skills and soft skills described below.
Work independently and with diverse & multi-functional teams (operations, engineering, IT, Vendor Staff, etc.)
Responsible to take actions necessary to address automation systems downtime or systems related issues by closely monitoring automation system operations, metrics, and maintenance. create daily reporting for system status.
Support Human Machine Interface functionality & statistics, Warehouse Control Systems, and general automation controls and Programmable Logic Controllers
Perform mechanical and/or electrical repair of Automated Equipment according to urgency and recommend alternatives when problems arise.
Coordinate and complete maintenance tasks to ensure completion as scheduled and minimize downtime of equipment and impact to Operation. Log completion of maintenance tasks in tracking system.
Maintain Spare Parts Inventory and log usage.
Maintain records of tools needed to support automation equipment
Work with Engineering to design and/or redesign systems as needed.
Follow established procedures for maintenance related activities; adhering to policies related to quality, hazardous materials, ergonomics/safety.
Confront complex issues with careful analysis and diagnosis.
What you have – Skills and Experiences:
Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.
Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions
Standard Operating Procedures: Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP) for automation systems; ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily automation tasks and warehouse operations
Automation Systems, Standards, Procedures & Policies: Knowledge of Automation Technology standards and policies; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to maintain automation systems, standards, and procedures.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Additional Information
This position will be a 2nd Shift. This role must be available to be on call as required, and to work all shifts and/or swing shifts. (including off shifts and weekends)
There is no relocation offered for this position.
Basic Qualifications:
Technical training, certificate program, junior college program, or equivalent experience, is required.
Experience in maintenance, skilled trades, manufacturing operations, and/or facilities maintenance or equivalent experience.
Must possess strong collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work across functions.
Requires problem-solving skills to solve common problems.
Skilled in Microsoft Office applications
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
2+ years of experience with at least three of the following areas: autonomous vehicles, automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics, advanced battery technology, warehouse automation, Lidar systems
Strong problem solving, priority setting, and communication skills
Understanding of Warehouse Operations and Warehouse Management Systems
Be proficient in English as well as the local language where the engineer is based
Experience in Dematic DIQ system, warehouse management systems and/or SAP
Experience with web-based applications, inventory tracking systems, operations software systems, and/or maintenance tracking systems
