Automation Engineer
*Automation involves a very broad range of technologies including robotics, control systems, network communications, test measurement, data collection, and many more. * Automation engineers must have a solid understanding of computer programming and software development. Automation engineers must be detail-oriented, with strong communications skills, and creative thinkers. They must be able to troubleshoot systems and willing to learn new technologies. Automation Engineers are employed in industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, automotive, alternative energy, and any industry where automation is found.
Desired Skills:
Experience with automated processesEntry level knowledge of robot programming including off line programming, workspace monitoring, vision applications, troubleshooting.Entry level programming knowledge of PLC's, and embedded controllersEntry level knowledge of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) programmingExperience with one or more robot brands (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Motoman, Stäubli).Knowledge of one or more structured programming language (Java, C++)Knowledge of industrial networks and communications (Ethernet, DeviceNET, Profibus)Understanding of basic electrical measurement principles and test equipmentOrganizational skills to maintain project documentation, write test procedures, system manuals, and specificationsParticipation in the development, construction and installation of custom equipment buildsAbility to successfully execute multiple project responsibilities with minimal supervisionProvide troubleshooting support for customers
Job Requirements:
Must be available to travel 70% of the time or more as required. Travel is outside of the local area of southeastern, MIEager to learn and ability to be coachedBS Degree or equivalent job experienceInterest in working hands-on within an industrial manufacturing environment
