This position includes day, evening, weekend and some holiday hours, as well as some travel through the year. _ *Summary* · Provide athletic training services in University settings in accordance with NATA guidelines and practices (National Athletic Trainers’ Association). · Provide athletic training services for assigned school’s athletic department as directed by the school’s Athletic Director and/or Team Physician(s). · Assists Sports Medicine staff with prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes’ injuries. · Attend scheduled team practices and sporting events, including travel to sporting events/competitions. Requires scheduled hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays. · Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all school, NATA, NCAA, and Conference guidelines and regulations. · Teach within the University’s Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) as well as supervise athletic training students as preceptor for ATEP, managing an _<8 credit load per academic year. · May supervise and coordinate student affiliations and interns. * *The successful candidate will: · Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. · Be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as function strongly within a team environment. · Be able to function successfully with physicians and other members of Allied Health Care team and be comfortable in a matrix organization with multiple reporting responsibilities. · Display strong customer service skills and aptitude and be able to represent both clinic and practice in a positive manner outside of the clinic and within the community. _Licensure, Certification, Registration_ · Current NATA BOC Certification · State of Connecticut Athletic Training License · CPR with AED for professional rescuer with first aid · CPR instructor certification preferred · CSCS Credential preferred * * _Qualifications_ · Minimum three (3) years’ experience athletic training with some college or university setting required. Five (5) years preferred. · Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited professional athletic training education program.
