Positions at the Institute for Cancer Genetics as Associate Research Scientists are available to elucidate the pathogenesis of human cancer as a means to identify novel mechanistically-based diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. The Institutes research includes the study of general mechanisms involved in tumorigenesis, DNA replication and repair, metabolism, metastasis, immune surveillance, as well as the dissection of genetic lesions underlying specific cancer types, such as leukemias and lymphomas, brain tumors, and pancreatic, breast and lung carcinomas.
Candidates must have a strong background in molecular and cancer biology, at least 3 years of postdoctoral research experience and a strong record of productive scientific research. Incumbents will carry out experimental work on research projects established in liaison with individual laboratory PIs and perform experiments either independently or in collaboration with other lab members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* A PhD and/or M.D in one of the biological sciences or other field directly related to cancer research
* At least three years of postdoctoral research experience
* Applicant must be capable of conducting research independently with minimum oversight and of working in collaboration with others
* Experience with microbiology laboratory techniques
* Strong analytical and reasoning skills
* Strong communication and presentation skills
