The Department of Neurology in the Division of Stroke is looking for an Associate Research Scientist (ARS). The Associate Research Scientist candidate is needed for carrying out statistical analyses of large epidemiological cohorts. The candidate should be very familiar with standard statistics and procedures such as linear and logistic regression, hierarchical models, and longitudinal data analyses. The candidate should have advanced experience with GWAS and whole genome analyses to function with minimal supervision.

　　The academic environment at Columbia will promote the applicant to become an independent investigator via grant submissions and manuscript writing, but the candidate can also opt to remain a collaborator or co-I according to career goals and expectations. The applicant will have access to > 6000 gwas and WES of people with well define vascular phenotypes, in addition to thousands of WES being collected at the Institute for genomic medicine. Formal neurological training would be greatly appreciated and considered a plus.

　　The duration of the project is for 2-5 years, depending on funding.
