Position Overview
The Associate Director, Category Management is a people leader responsible for leading Category Management as a global function, and in managing the Category Managers at Exact Sciences. This role will oversee the creation and deployment of a Category Management strategy that positions the Category Management team as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and drives organizational improvement. The Associate Director, Category Management will partner with the Associate Director of Sourcing Execution to serve as the primary liaisons across the Category Management and Sourcing Execution teams to ensure ongoing alignment and prioritization in support of category management goals and objectives. This role will also provide leadership across all spend categories to ensure unparalleled value is provided to internal and external stakeholders. This role is key in the delivery of cost, risk, and performance management-related efforts for third-party relationships, as well as in identifying opportunities for value enhancement and/or greater return on investment.
Essential Duties
Include but are not limited to the following:
Lead and oversee a world class service organization executing category management strategies for an expanding global business.Support developing the infrastructure and policies for category management at Exact Sciences.Monitor overall category strategies development and implementation, support changes to the strategy in line with the changing business environment.Lead a phased roll out of category management across the organization, partnering closely with business stakeholders to ensure business objectives are met.Partner closely with Sourcing Execution and Supply Chain Enablement teams to ensure a streamlined support process is established supporting business stakeholders.Drive aggressive savings initiatives for indirect spend while continuously managing savings pipeline based on key procurement targets. Ensure documentation and communication of savings success and engage end users in supporting process improvement. Facilitate rollout of new or modified policies and procedures based on industry best practices and compliance with applicable regulatory agencies. Ensure Category Management policies are followed across the organization through education to impacted departments.Regularly present to internal and external stakeholders.Direct the activities of Category Management teams.Ensure development and application of advantageous sourcing strategies.Monitor procurement outcomes to ensure key objectives and cost savings targets are met.Measure the effectiveness of category management processes and procedures related to key strategies.Support and implement new and innovative initiatives to drive improved performance.Act as a trusted consultant to internal stakeholders, providing objective category reviews that strive to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes across the relevant stakeholders.Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers. Identify value-generating opportunities (e.g. savings, efficiencies, or revenue growth).Partner with business stakeholders to negotiate contracts meeting cost savings and risk mitigation objectives.Consistent demonstration of exceptional leadership qualities, including but not limited to the ability to attract and retain the best team, foster a culture of high performance, lead with integrity, humility, accountability, and courage, and set a clear vision to energize teams towards the future. Effectively manage, support, and guide your team, including, but not limited to delegating tasks and responsibilities, assess employee performance and provide helpful feedback and training opportunities.Lead and manage several varied projects at one time, with frequent changing priorities.Ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.Ability to adapt to a quickly changing work environment with rapidly changing needs and requests.Ability to make decisions with limited information and operate with autonomy.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.Strong documentation, attention-to-detail, and procedure writing skills suitable for a GMP environment.Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to develop, transfer, and thoroughly document new processes and procedures.Ability to organize, present, and convey complex problems or issues within and across other functions.Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.Regular and reliable attendance.Ability to lift up to 20 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.Ability and means to travel between various locations.Ability to travel 15% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or field as outlined in the essential duties.12+ years of industry experience in a role or a field related to the essential duties of this role.8+ years of experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Procurement.4+ years of experience in Category Management, Strategy, or Product Development.6+ years of direct leadership experience, with 3+ years of leadership experience in Category Management.5+ years successfully negotiating commercial terms and managing contract negotiations with suppliers. This includes broad experience in risk mitigation.Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience working within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP.Strong working knowledge with 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and/or cGMP structured environments.Experience in change management specific to implementation of category management strategies.Demonstrated ability to manage a world class category management organization and influence business stakeholders of all levels.

Salary Range:
$147,000.00 - $234,000.00
The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms, conditions, and eligibility requirements of the applicable plans.
