The Associate Director - Accounting is responsible for coordinating and supervising the maintenance of the general ledger and for the production of various resultant financial statements.

  Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  Manages a group or section of general accountants.

  Leads complex general accounting projects. Supervises the work of employees responsible for reviewing and preparing financial statements or key reports.

  Managing the work and providing guidance to less experienced accountants responsible for preparing and reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and financial statements.

  Articulates and documents appropriate accounting business requirements while participating as the SME on new product and services projects.

  Manages or supports special accounting treatments such as the accounting for various divestures or various complex industry specific accounting transactions.

  Develops and implements methodology for appropriate recognition of Fixed Assets.

  Develops and creates analysis of specific assigned items for review by senior management.

  Confer and consult management with identification and evaluation of operating issues or financial opportunities.

  Analyzes expense/capital results and provides explanations to leadership.

  Works cross-functionally with various segment finance teams to explain their respective financial results.

  Acts as subject matter expert on various sources of cost data, expense/capital recognition, subsidiary and supporting ledgers, and may work on highly sensitive independent projects.

  Analyzes large amounts of detailed data and may be required to solve complex problems.

  Initiates process improvements to enhance the effectiveness, accuracy, and performance of accounting processes.

  Utilize data analytical tools like PowerBI, SQL, Access, and other tools while automating processes: manual journal entries, reconciliations, and reports.

  Review and adhere to internal controls within the organization.

  May also design and implement additional controls as needed. Interacts with and supports both internal and external auditors and other business partners.

  Job Contribution: Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Supervises activities for subordinates including recruitment, training, performance evaluation and salary management; encourages professional development through job assignments and training. Influences decisions regarding the hiring, firing, disciplinary action, promotional activity, and pay decisions for subordinates.

  Experience: Typically requires 5-7 years’ experience.

  AT&T will consider for employment qualified applicants in a manner consistent with the requirements of federal, state and local laws.

  Our Associate Director- Accounting roles earn between $130,700 - $196,100. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
