The Role at a Glance

The Associate Actuary, Group Benefits Pricing Strategy will support key pricing initiatives for developing and monitoring pricing strategy across the Group Protection product suite – Life/ADD, LTD, STD, Leave, Dental, Supplemental Health. You will act as a resource for stakeholders and provide consultative advice analytic support to advance growth and profitability initiatives and deliver meaningful business results. You will partner with stakeholders to support execution of our segment level pricing strategies through monitoring and reporting on key metrics.

What you'll be doing

Collaborates across the organization to develop, monitor, and align pricing strategy approaches, including both new business and renewal rate strategies.

Monitors new sale profitability and renewal strategy execution and provide support and recommend changes to key business partners were appropriate.

Develops tools to support pricing decisions made by Underwriting, Distribution, and other key business areas.

Works with product pricing actuaries and key business partners to stay on top of emerging trends and continuously improve pricing strategy.

Performs data-driven analysis to inform decision making.

Ensures proper documentation of analysis and assumptions.

Communicates results of analysis to business unit management.

Serves as a resource and subject matter expert to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on pricing strategy assumptions.

Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends in assumptions, assessing impact, and collaborating improve Group Protection profitability.

What we’re looking for

Must-haves:

4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative major

3 - 5+ Years experience in actuarial science that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position

Upon Hire Certifications/Licensures: (5-8 Actuarial Exams passed; typically has ASA designation, progressing toward FSA designation.)

The pay range for this position is $67,000 - $120,700 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
