Job Summary
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies within the College of Education at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor. We are seeking a colleague with an entrepreneurial spirit to serve a vital role as we fulfill our vision to be a center of innovation, learning, and creativity. We are looking for a team member who engages graduate students in real-world practice through evidence-based approaches to innovation in the educational setting. The start date of the position will be Fall 2024.
The Assistant/Associate Professor will help continue our tradition of preparing outstanding leaders for schools, districts, and universities and provide leadership and support to doctoral and masters programs focused on educational leadership. We seek to empower teachers and leaders by enhancing their knowledge, skills, and dispositions in the areas of teaching, research, leadership, and advocacy. We look for a faculty member who constantly adapts to and includes new research and best practices to meet the needs of communities that our talented graduate students serve.
Associate Professor candidates will exhibit established quality research publication records to qualify for tenure at UT Arlington (R1/Texas Tier One).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies seeks faculty who will contribute to our doctoral, master’s degree, and principal certification preparation programs. Selected faculty will teach and advise graduate students and serve on doctoral committees.
We seek a colleague who will engage in ongoing scholarship with clear connections to educational leadership or administration that lead to publications and receipt of external funding.
The successful candidate will pursue external funding and maintain active research agendas with a strong record of research publications.
The successful candidate will engage in service to the department, college, university, and profession and contribute to cultivating collegiality within the department and college.
Required Qualifications
Required qualifications for appointment at the Assistant level include:
An earned doctorate in educational leadership or administration or closely related field by August 2024
Demonstrated potential to initiate and sustain an active research agenda and engage in high-quality research and grant writing in the area of educational leadership
A strong commitment to teaching excellence and demonstrated preparation to advise and support students
Demonstrated potential to effectively engage and collaborate with a diverse array of partners and stakeholders in educational leadership preparation and provide service to the University and community
Additional required qualifications for appointment at the Associate level include:
Demonstrated ability to initiate and sustain a defined, active research agenda and a strong record of scholarly publications
Success with prior grant funding
Evidence of effective teaching at the graduate level
Evidence of effective engagement and collaboration with a diverse array of partners and stakeholders in educational leadership preparation
Experience advising and mentoring doctoral students through degree completion
Eligibility for a tenured appointment
Preferred Qualifications
A research agenda focused on innovation at the K-12 level
Three or more years of experience as a K-12 administrator (principal level or higher) or principal certification
Experience engaging practitioners in action research or job-embedded inquiry projects
Pedagogical experience with hybrid, blended, and online teaching strategies in higher education
Knowledge of the complex policy and legislative environment governing Texas educational institutions
