Job Description
This Tenure Track position is responsible for supporting the Chemical Engineering program to include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and providing advisement to students. In addition, this position will be expected to conduct scholarly activities including research and provide service to the department, college, and university, and must have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service..
Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and graduate level chemical engineering courses as assigned.
Actively participate in research or other scholarly activities such as publications in peer-reviewed journals, professional presentations at national or regional conferences, mentoring student researchers, and obtaining external grant funding.
Actively participate in service activities at all levels such as departmental advising and recruiting, college or university committees, community engagements, or professional organizations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Doctorate degree in chemical engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university.
Evidence of teaching multiple chemical engineering topics.
Preferred Qualifications:
One or more years of experience in teaching at the college/university level.
Experience implementing different teaching strategies and techniques in courses.
A research portfolio with evidence of prior experience preparing external grants, a proposed future research agenda, and peer reviewed journal publications.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Research experience in an emerging chemical engineering research area such as carbon emissions, sustainability, process simulation, 3D mapping or digital twins, mixed reality, and water purification.
Experience creating a new course or having a course certified for online delivery.
Ability to lead collaborative projects with faculty in multiple departments.
