JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Assistant Parts Manager facilitates the sale anddelivery of truck parts to all customers. Essential Duties andResponsibilities (not in order of priority): Develop and implementprocedures for special order parts that includes tracking, notifying theshop, customers that special order parts have arrived. Ensure that partsare delivered or picked up within thirty days. Also, include a procedurethat ensures if parts are not picked up in thirty days they are shippedback and freight is charge accordingly. Daily stock order to be reviewedand submitted no later than 2:00 p.m. each day to ensure properinventory levels. Develop and maintain company vehicle maintenanceprogram. Post monthly schedule for all counterman that assures completecoverage for vacations, sick time, etc. Work with outside salesmen on adaily basis to ensure all parts customers are called and all parts aredelivered on a timely basis. Schedule weekly bin maintenance to ensurestocking levels are correct and to control for year-end inventory.Monitor daily gross profit average per sales and counterman to ensureproper pricing levels. Work with countermen as needed to maintain agross profit of no less than 25% of sales. Answer incoming parts calls.Assist walk-in retail customers with their purchases. Identify andtroubleshoot correct parts for customers. Process all orders frombeginning to end. Help suggest and recommend new parts to stock andcommunicate new trends or changes in buying habits of customers. Helpwith housekeeping throughout the parts department when needed, butspecifically with the retail counter, will call, and front customerdisplay areas. Keep the parts catalogs organized. Help with keeping thedisplay area stocked and appealing to the customer. Handle and processall warranty requests for company policies and procedures. Process all\"cash\" transactions completely and accurately through the cashregister when the cashier is not available. Tag and inspect all exchangecores for like and for good core requirements. Return all cores on amonthly basis. Work with product salesmen to ensure that all parts staffhas sales and computer training to enhance their knowledge for betterproduct sales. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.Regular punctual on-site attendance required. Work Environment:Occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes orairborne particles; outdoor weather conditions and vibration. The noiselevel in the work environment is usually moderate.
