POSITION SUMMARYProduces/assembles materials, parts, sub-assemblies, in-process goods,etc. in the manufacture of filter products. Ensures order requirementsand quality standards are met. Work may be performed in a productionline environment with items automatically moving past work stations onconveyors or may be performed in a work cell or fabrication environment.May perform other duties as assigned.

III. NATURE & SCOPE
Champion Laboratories, Inc. is a full-line filter manufacturer withprimary facilities located in Southern Illinois, South Carolina,Michigan, California and divisional facilities in Europe and China. Thesales and marketing operations of Champion Laboratories areheadquartered in Albion, IL. Through the use of a direct sales force,independent manufacturers agents, and in some cases direct accountresponsibility, automotive, light truck, and heavy duty filters andrelated products are sold and distributed worldwide.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms a variety of repetitive assembly operations by hand and/oroperates various assembly line or fabrication equipment in theassembly of filter products.Inspects materials, sub-assemblies, and/or finished product ensuringcompliance with established quality specifications.Completes various forms of paperwork (i.e. production tickets, scraptickets, transfer tickets, and product process record) as required.Uses computer system for activities such as scanning bar codes andaccessing information.Participates in product changeovers by moving parts to/from lineand/or making minor adjustments to equipment.Performs functions of line attendant, including determiningproduction run requirements, transporting parts and materialsbetween and within work centers and stacking cases of product ontoskids for storage or shipment.Follows safety procedures and safe work practices.Cleans work area, picking up and properly disposing of scrap, trash,etc. and performs general housekeeping tasks.MINIMUM SELECTION CRITERIACommunication:
Communicate with appropriate personnel about problems encountered whileperforming job duties.
In-person interaction with co-workers and supervisors.
Learning/Reading/Mathematical Comprehension:
Perform basic math functions such as addition and subtraction.
Learn and comprehend standard operating procedures and basic productiontechniques.
Read and write to complete required paperwork and access information onthe computer.
Visual Requirements:
Distinguish between various items for proper length, width, shape,color, and other characteristics.
Motor Skills:
Hand/eye coordination and finger/hand dexterity to perform a variety ofhighly repetitive assembly operations.
Stand throughout the shift, although some operations may requiresitting. Move to various work stations to perform assignments.
Frequently/repetitively bend, push/pull and reach with hands and arms instanding and/or sitting position to assemble product, load parts, assistin changeovers, etc.
Frequently lift up to 30 lbs.
Work around moving conveyors.
Environment:
Work in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, possibletemperature extremes, dirt, solvents, paper dust, etc.
Dependability:
Maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct. Available towork any shift and overtime as needed.
