We are offering a 12-month post-graduate program for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners interested in advanced training in Trauma, Emergency General Surgery and Surgical ICU, with a start date of June 2024. The HealthPartners Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Fellowship at Regions Hospital, a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, engages APC learners in extensive training within the core services of Trauma, Emergency General Surgery and Surgical Intensive Care, as well as required rotations in specialty areas deemed essential for proficiency. Responsibilities include performing histories and physicals, formulating an assessment and plan, and providing necessary treatments and procedures. All work is supervised by an attending physician or APC. Through extensive simulation and procedural skills training in HealthPartners Simulation Center, as well as lectures delivered by experienced clinicians, didactic sessions compliment the diverse rotations and hands on experiences, offering the APC Fellow the opportunity to develop clinical competence and confidence, critical thinking, interprofessional collaboration and professional growth. This helps APCs successfully integrate into practice at an accelerated rate compared to on-the-job training. Candidates must be willing to complete a 12 month training program without interruption. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, occasional weekends, occasional evenings. Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program (Applicants may be in final year of completing this requirement with hiring dependent upon successful completion) PA or NP students completing training are encouraged to pursue at least one rotation in Urgent Care Required Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota with certification by the NCCPA OR Licensed as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner by the state of Minnesota & certified by AANP or ANCC Application Requirements: Resume/CV Personal statement 3 professional letters of recommendation Transcript (unofficial or official) Note: Candidates are welcome to apply prior to formal licensure and certification but must be obtained at least 3 months prior to start date of program.
