About Operations Specialist

  This position will be based in Japan, primarily at a customer location aboard Marine Corp Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, in support of the Amentum Base Operations & Support contract with the US Department of Defense (DoD)/Navy- Marine Corps.

  Our team is looking for an organized and analytical professional. A successful candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills to support a rewarding customer mission.

  This is full time position providing operational mission support.

  In addition to meeting the necessary qualifications the selected candidate must be comfortable working in a dynamic and high-energy environment.

  Working Environment: This is a non-SOFA assignment

  Work Schedule: This position works eight hours/day five days a week minimum. The candidate participates in a 24/7 duty phone rotation.

  Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  Develops techniques and procedures for the efficient and profitable operation of the buildings under his/her supervision.

  Establishes and maintains effective relationships and communications, both internally and externally, with persons of all backgrounds and organizational levels.

  Accepts responsibility for his/her own performance and demonstrates the capability to assist other team members in reaching success within the organization.

  Prepares accurate, detailed, and timely reports.

  Possesses and demonstrates a positive approach toward achieving outstanding customer satisfaction.

  Constantly seeks ways to improve and promote quality of work product.

  Displays ability and willingness to make decisions and offer guidance in real time.

  Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.

  Interface within the Functional Areas for the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of contractual deliverables.

  Assist and supplement Safety and Quality personnel with recordkeeping tasks of the assigned Functional Area.

  Organize and maintain documents electronically in SharePoint.

  Minimum Acceptable Experience and Qualification Levels:

  Must possess excellent customer service skills.

  Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.

  Must have exceptional proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and web based tools.

  Prior experience in an operations and maintenance or construction environment is preferred.

  Previous experience with a work order management system such as a Maximo or SAP based CMMS is preferred.

  Previous experience working directly with a customer.

  Three (3) or more years of experience in facilities maintenance and repair or a related field preferred.

  Basic knowledge of building operations, maintenance and repairs to include electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, boilers, etc.

  Education:

  High school diploma or GED required.Language Requirements:

  Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

  Must have excellent oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and the client.

  Professional Licenses & Certifications: N/A

  Other Requirements:

  Candidate must possess a valid passport of home country with a minimum of 12 months remaining to expiration date. If not currently a resident of Japan

  Will be expected to obtain a company-sponsored Japanese Work Visa if not currently a resident of Japan.

  Position requires the applicant to drive in the performance of work duties. Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Japanese Driver License and be able to operate a Company provided motor vehicle on MCAS Iwakuni.

  Transportation is not provided to locally hired personnel for the purpose of commute to and from the workplace. Non-locally hired are expected to obtain and maintain the legal ability to operate a Company provided vehicle both on and off the installation for the purpose of commute and/or on-site transportation. Those unable to obtain and maintain the legal means to operate a motor vehicle in Japan or aboard the installation will be responsible for their own transportation for all purposes.
