  Clarke Community School District is looking to hire an Elementary School Special Education Associate for the 2023-2024 school year.

  Coaching opportunities are also available.

  POSITION GOAL: To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource material.

  SUPERVISES: Student(s)

  PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Take directions from teachers and building administrators.

  Follow behavior management plans for individual student(s).

  Assist in the implementation and monitoring of students Individual Education Plans.

  Assist in implementing consistent behavior management strategies and procedures.

  Perform personal care duties for student(s) with disabilities as needed (including but not limited to: feeding, clothing, lavatory, toileting, diapering and wash-up routines)

  Operates and cares for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.

  Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of the teacher.

  Has a good working relationship with all other persons.

  Completes all other tasks assigned by the supervising teacher.

  Attends to other such duties as may be assigned by the building principal.

  Help children get organized for individual study.

  Assist and work with pupils individually, particularly with those having difficulty.

  Help in the classroom while the teacher is busy with another group of students.

  Demonstrate effective communication skills with students, parents, staff and administration.

  TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year established by the Board of Education. Pay rate and other benefits as per the negotiated contract.

  EVALUATION: Evaluation procedure shall follow the Clarke Community School District board policy 411.7.
