　　Job Summary

　　Under general supervision, orders standard supplies from Central Supply,Materials Management, and Pharmacy. Maintains stock and organization ofAnesthesia workspace in the ORs, Anesthesiology workroom and other supplyareas. Stocks supplies. Cleans equipment according to department standardsand/or type of equipment.

　　Essential Functions:

　　Stocks and maintains specialized carts, per written guidelines, as well asdrawers of anesthesia gas machines. (15%)Ensures adequate supplies are readily available for anesthesia caregivers.(15%)Orders and restocks inventory supplies on a daily basis. Ensures departmentpar levels are always on hand. (10%)Provides anesthesia caregivers, in a timely fashion, with equipment,supplies, and drugs as requested. (10%)Maintains adequate supply of sterilized circuits and suction set-ups assembledto provide for a minimum of a 24-hour period. (5%)Cleans all reusable equipment after each case with approved products anddelivers any equipment requiring Sterilization or HLD to the SPD team. (5%)Ensures equipment consistently meets Universal Infection Control standards.(5%)Sets up anesthesia gas machines for induction of anesthesia in the O.R. andother anesthetizing locations. Performs function check. (5%)Replaces bulbs in blade handles, supply batteries for handles, etc. (5%)Assembles percutaneous tracheal ventilation (PTV) kits in accordance withwritten specifications. (5%)Ensures safety and proper working condition of reusable equipment. (5%)Expedites replacement of anesthesia supplies/equipment in operating roomsassigned to each day, as patient turnover occurs. (0%)Discards used circuit/suction lines. Replaces with ready-to-use materialsappropriate for next patient. (5%)Assists anesthesia caregivers in transport of patients to or from the O.R.,or provide other assistance as requested. (5%)With limited access, maintains supplies only in the Anesthesia Pyxis Cartsincluding stocking and system changes in partnership with pharmacy staff. (5%)Education:

　　BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association RequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:

　　Skilled in the use and maintenance of anesthesia equipment.Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients and otherhospital employees.Ability to assist with patients who may need ICU ventilators, high-riskintubations and facilitate fiber optic intubations.Experience with Microsoft Office products, required.Experience with Epic and Lawson, preferred.
