  Amazon Robotics empowers a smarter, faster, more consistent customer experience through automation. Amazon Robotics automates fulfillment center operations using various methods of robotic technology including autonomous mobile robots, sophisticated control software, language perception, power management, computer vision, depth sensing, machine learning, object recognition, and semantic understanding of commands. Amazon Robotics has a dedicated focus on research and development to continuously explore new opportunities to extend its product lines into new areas.

  This Amazon Robotics internship opportunity will either be based out of the Greater Boston Area in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough, MA and North Reading, MA. Both campuses provide a unique opportunity to have direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities. This role is a 3 month summer internship to join AR full time (40 hours/week) from May - August 2024.

  The Technical Product Management team partners closely with software and hardware engineering teams and is responsible for defining product requirements for the development of the latest technologies for Amazon Robotic Fulfillment Centers. The team is also responsible for creating strategic product roadmaps, serving as Voice of the Customer, and evaluating and prioritizing new feature requests.

  The Technical Product Manager Intern will be an active member of this team by owning a critical product component, process path, or internal process improvement. This role requires excellent communication, project management, and technical skills to process information from multiple stakeholders, understand technical product features, and communicate effectively across the organization.

  A successful candidate will be comfortable navigating the early phases of a products’ development, and can bring structure to ambiguity. The intern will have a strong bias for action, able to weigh multiple options and make documented, data-driven tradeoffs. Lastly, a successful candidate knows how to communicate across multiple audiences, including target customers, business partners, solution designers, and SW and HW engineers.

  Market sizing and competitive analysis

  Customer and partner communication

  Voice of Customer collection

  Technical leadership

  About the team

  Product Operations is a new Amazon Robotics (AR) team that formed in 2023. The team serves as a central function aligning distributed set of product managers within AR. This enables independence of each teams, while supporting AR leadership with consistent information to make critical decisions and prioritize across AR. We are responsible for developing frameworks to support the organizations portfolio strategy and planning, mechanisms, and execution.

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  North Reading, MA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  Currently working towards MBA

  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or similar discipline

  Must be eligible and available for a full-time (40h / week) internship from May - August 2024

  Must have at least one semester/term/quarter of school left to complete after the end of the internship

  Preferred Qualifications

  Strong verbal and written communication skills

  Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize conflicting requirements

  Ability to multitask and prioritize critical tasks and conflicting requirements with a high attention to detail.

  Experience working in a start-up or start-up environment.
