In this role, you will be empowering customers achieve governance over their data and machine learning projects through technical innovations.

  About the Role -

  As an Sr. Engineer you will own the innovation in the space of ML Platforms, building compelling functionality for the Amazon SageMaker Service. You will be responsible for leading the technical direction for a team of engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of distributed systems and big data solutions. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing distributed systems, a strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

  Key job responsibilities

  Come and be part of the Amazon AWS Machine learning Model Monitor team! We are a AWS service that helps customers run machine learning algorithms on various Big Data systems in a scalable and cost-effective manner, detecting bias and providing explainability. With Machine Learning, businesses now ask our machines to do more than repetitive, strictly-defined tasks. We are taking it one step further and have begun to ask them to not only learn on their own but to also interpret data and report to the customer before they even knew they needed it. It's a step in history for you to be a part of. You will be building a platform that incorporates best practices and runs advanced algorithms at production scale and reliability.

  In this role, you will design, implement, test, and own a SOA-based platform using object-oriented, distributed programming, Java, C/C++, other AWS services, and more in a Linux environment. You will work in a fast-paced environment and do everything from determining priorities and designing features, to re-architecture as necessary, to automated testing, to mentoring others. The best candidates show true end-to-end ownership.

  Santa Clara, CA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

  Preferred Qualifications

  5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
