In this role you will work as part of a team to provide technical support on existing projects and business development efforts at Exponent.You will be responsible forApplying knowledge of genetics and/or genetic engineering to aid in the evaluation of potential risk(s) or impacts to the environmentEvaluating the appropriateness, validity, and interpretation of results produced from studies involving genetic methods or genetically engineered organisms, including data produced by othersAnalyzing a broad range of data types, including genetic dataSupport the presentation of genomic/data analysesSynthesizing technical information and applying creative and critical thinking to prepare and review reports and technical presentationsDeveloping and maintaining professional status by authoring peer-reviewed publications, and participation in technical conferences and activities of professional societiesWorking cooperatively on projects with other members of the Ecological and Biological Sciences Practice and interdisciplinary groups from other Exponent practices as appropriateYou will have the following skills and qualificationsPh.D. in a relevant field (Plant Biology, Forestry, Agricultural Sciences, Applied Ecology, Entomology, etc.)Proficiency in code-based analyses in at least one programing language (e.g., Python, R)Experience working with genomics data OR gene editing technologies OR regulations related to genetic engineeringDiverse interests and willingness to work on broad range of topics, including those outside of agriculture and genomicsAbility to problem solve and adapt to changing project needsExperience working with large and complex datasetsNot required but any of the following experience would be a plus:Knowledge of regulations related to genetic engineeringExperience with developing genetically engineered organismsKnowledge or experience with pesticides/biopesticidesExperience with bioinformaticsApplicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not
