Job Description:
Performs planning and scheduling functions involved with coordinating products and materials through various production phases. Implements planned production schedules, labor loading and capacity requirements. Reviews schedules to determine materials and parts requirements to ensure materials are available according to schedules. Collects and analyzes data and prepares reports including recommendations to meet internal and external demands for materials and finished goods. Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
Essential Functions:
Production Planning working capital focal
Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with planning, sales (CSA’s), logistics and manufacturing departments on inventory for RAW, Strip/MRB, FGI and Spares.
Manage weekly meetings to drive inventory categories down to inventory entitlement levels.
Support the monthly SIOP process meetings to review performance against inventory strategy.
Create and maintain inventory reports and projections (recovery schedules)
Coordinate “Q-status” (sales orders in the Quote process) as it pertains to production planning processes
Work with Master Scheduler and the Customer Support Agents to reduce the number of Q-status items.
RMA (Returned Material Authorization (Part-21 Material)) – Production Planning primary point of contact.
Work with purchasing and receiving to ensure material is available to start work orders on time
Prioritize work order starts per established processes
Attend weekly material shortage meetings with procurement
Provide priority calls on critical components
Drive ownership of on-time delivery of product and quarterly revenue goals for assigned production lines
Prepare and submit status and performance reports
Maintain the production tracker with known risks and updated delivery predictions
Maintain work order on time to start performance metric for assigned production lines
Create recovery plans to any misses to customer demand
Maintain a line of balance for any product that falls behind to customer demand
Qualifications:
Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations Management, Business Management or Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post secondary/Associates Degree and minimum of 8 years prior related experience or graduate degree and minimum of 2 years prior related experience (preferred)
Lean or Green Belt Six Sigma certification a plus
Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning)
APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or APICS Certified Supply chain Professional (CSCP) a plus.
