The Department of Radiology includes more than 80 full-time facultymembers, clinical associates, advanced practice providers, andpostdoctoral researchers. A tradition of excellence in patient care,basic, clinical, and translational sciences, combined with the strengthsof one of the world\'s top academic institutions provides the foundationfor a robust career in the University of Chicago Medical System. TheUniversity of Chicago Medicine is a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric TraumaCenter, a Comprehensive Stroke Care Center, and a referral center fornumerous neurologic and otolaryngologic disorders.
Job Summary
The job uses best practices and knowledge of patients and exercisesautonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis, initiation ofdelegated medical treatments, and performance of image guided proceduresindependently and/or with supervision. The scope of practice includesimage guided procedures, inpatient rounding, outpatient clinics, familysupport, discharge planning, staff education, consultation and research.
Responsibilities
Performs procedures as trained and appropriately credentialed.Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests.Monitors effectiveness of plan of care.Educates patients on disease and treatment plans.Documents within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and completesother necessary documents.Collaborates and/or consults with physicians and other health careproviders as appropriate.Actively participates in program building, and quality measurementand improvement measures.Designs patient education programs that include information requiredto make informed health care and treatment decisions.Evaluates goals and outcomes taking into account thebenefit-versus-burden, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness forthe patient, family and the organization.Develops diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions neededto achieve the goals and outcomes of the patient\'s plan of care.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree from anaccredited school/college.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through acombination of education and a minimum of 2 years of relevant workexperience in a related job discipline.

Certifications:
Current and/or eligible for State of Illinois licensure/registrationrequired. Eligibility to be privileged and credentialed through theMedical Staff Office (MSO). - State of Illinois

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Advanced degree (or equivalent, if license received prior to July1, 2001) from an accredited school/college of nursing or completionof an accredited Physician Assistant educational program accreditedby the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for thePhysician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA).Experience:
Experience in a procedural environment and/or performing procedureswould be a benefit.Preferred Competencies
