Job SummaryManages and ensures effective research project completion. Oversees complex and concurring projects and supervises team. Coordinates research operations, answers inquiries, and prepares research reports and materials. Designs and implements an organizational system, quality control procedures, and systems for maximum utilization of project resources. Implements communications plans, obtain applicable regulatory approvals, and ensure adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions • Plans, directs, manages, and ensures effective research project completion. Assumes full responsibility of complex projects and/or concurring projects, including outreach, training, supervision of support staff, assessment, and data collection. • Supervises staff, including hiring, distributing, and reviewing work, performance reviews, and documenting disciplinary actions and other human resource administration. Manages work schedules and approves timecards. Provides professional development opportunities. • Interacts effectively with faculty and senior staff to coordinate research operations, and serves as point of contact for inquiries. • Prepares progress/research reports, abstracts, presentations, and publications in accordance with funding agency requirements. Collaborates in the preparation and management of articles for publication. • Designs and implements an organizational system for all aspects of a complex, collaborative research project with multiple collaborative partner sites. Develops and maintains quality control procedures. • Works effectively with partners/senior staff at collaborating institutions and sites to develop and implement a communications plan, obtain applicable regulatory approvals, and ensure adherence to relevant regulations, policies, and procedures. • Develops systems for maximum utilization of project resources and monitors the project budget. Ensures expenditures are within budgetary constraints. • Some travel to satellite sites may occur. If not utilizing public transportation, a valid driver's license is required. It is the expectation that the incumbent will use their own vehicle required for local travel and the owner of the vehicle must carry automobile liability insurance. The owner's automobile liability insurance coverage is primary coverage. The University's automobile liability insurance policy provides excess coverage only.
