LOCATION: SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY PROPERTY MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT
ABOUT THIS POSITION:
This position works primarily as the main "Administrative Manager" to the Director of Property Management Department. The department is responsible for all aspects of SUBR Land Mass compliance with State of Louisiana statute Title 39.330. Property Control", and Louisiana Administrative Code, Title 34. Accordingly, the department conducts all equipment inventory control activities, including maintenance of inventory data bases, coordination of the annual inventory, surplus property operations, equipment audits and other related duties. There are over 14,000 items on the SUBR inventory, distributed through more than 150 campus departments, with a value of 46 million dollars. The Property Mgmt. Department also operated a 16,000 sq. ft. "Central Receiving" warehouse and loading dock area. All merchandise and equipment purchased by the University- with some exceptions determined by logistics - is received at the Central Receiving docks and subsequently logged into the University Banner System data base, tracking purchases order numbers and other system codes. Property Control inventory tagging data is entered on-line in the State of Louisiana Asset works System. Nearly 500 purchase orders a year are processed for "inventory equipment" merchandise alone.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.
Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:
A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.
