The Youth Treatment Specialist embracesworking one to three with youth teaching skills and empowering youththrough a 6-month treatment program. Youth treatment specialists providesupervision of the youth and are responsible for implementing the dailyschedule of activities. This includes teaching and role modeling skills,providing group educational activities, recreational activities,educational support, and serving as role model for youth. EssentialFunctions: Serve as a treatment specialist in the milieu supportingtherapeutic interactions by coaching skill use throughout dailyactivities, modeling appropriate behavior, teaching and reinforcing useand generalization of skills through a token economy system. Useevidence-based best practices for youth with mental health, substanceuse and life needs.This includes the innovative Integrated TreatmentModel (ITM) including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), traumainformed care, motivational interviewing, youth centered, and culturallyreverent approaches while celebrating youth\'s development and identity.Use motivation and engagement strategies to encourage youth involved insystems such as the Division of Youth and Family Services and Departmentof Children and Families to participate in treatment programming andinvolvement in program activities. Co-facilitate Dialectical BehaviorTherapy groups and other group topics pertaining to healthyrelationships, fatherhood, independent living skills, substance useeducation, and cultural identity development curriculums. Organize,participate, and monitor scheduled activities for youth (one-to-three),engaging them in specific activities both on-site and off-siteprogramming including but not limited to various clubs, school, artactivities, recreation, community outings, and field trips. Supportyouth\'s education by serving as a learning coach in the classroomon-site and at school through an interactive, and competency basededucational model.
