JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: As an Administrative AssistantSr. in the Department of Surgery\'s Surgical Oncology Division you willperform routine and advanced administrative duties requiringconsiderable skill and in-depth knowledge of organizational policies andprocedures, under general direction. Primary Functions Utilize Epic toprepare clinical, operative and conference related correspondence,reports, and other documents. Maintain HIPAA confidentiality ofdepartment and patient data. Maintenance of pagers; ordering new pagersas needed. Maintain, update and distribute call schedules. Obtaininsurance preauthorization for surgical procedures. Composecorrespondence as needed, which may contain confidential information.Proofread and format documents to ensure accuracy. Screen telephonecalls and visitors to resolve complex inquiries. Triage patient andprovider phone calls, resolve routine inquiries and take appropriatemessages. Provide backup administrative coverage for otheradministrative staff during administrative staff vacation and sick time.Coordinate schedules, meetings, appointments, and travel itineraries andrelated arrangements. Compile data and information from multiple sourcesto prepare reports. Process payment requests, requisitions, andinvoices. Distribute mail and organize filing systems accuratelymaintaining records. Use complex functions of a variety of computerapplications and software packages; prepare and compose correspondence,reports, memorandums and other documents. Knowledge - Skills - AbilitiesKnowledge of computers, clerical procedures, customer service standards,collaboration, and information management.
