This is a contractual position, which offers some state paid benefits.
State Highway Administration is currently recruiting for an Administrative A ssistant III position in Kent County. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification.
Nature of Work: This position provides administrative assistance to the Resident Maintenance Engineer, Chief Facilities Maintenance Officer, Team Leaders, and the employees assigned to the maintenance facility. The incumbent is responsible for applying a large variety of policies and procedures, payroll, computerized system requirement- MTrack, EORS, EPIS to accomplish their daily work. In addition, this position provides support and assistance with stock room, inventory management and procurement.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in secretarial work.
Please note that secretarial work must be the primary function of the job to be considered as qualifying experience.
*Secretarial work is defined as work that consists of supporting/assisting one or more employees, or unit/department.
Notes:
Applicants may substitute additional secretarial or clerical experience on a year-for-year basis, for the required education.
Applicants may substitute an Associate of Arts degree with a major in Secretarial Science from an accredited college for up to two years of the required experience.
U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted for the education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
