Overview
IntroductionMerrick & Company is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to assist ourFinance/Accounting Team.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare the daily cash sheet by matching electronic payments and checks toappropriate invoices and reconcile payment discrepancies.Distribute daily cash collections to required internal personnel.Identify and create journal entries for cash received throughout the month.Research unknown cash receipts, and work with the project accounting team toproperly allocate amount to projects.Collaborate with the cash team to reconcile any outstanding balances in thedeposit account.Prepare and process check deposits to the bank.Analyzing and reconciling Accounts Receivable agingPreparing and distributing Accounts Receivable aging reports for projectmanagers and other personnelContact clients regarding past due invoices to facilitate payment and ensureinvoices were received.Complete credit references and other setup documentation when requested byclients.Maintains and balances accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, andreconciling transactions and resolving variances or discrepancies.Assist with audit requests related to accounts receivable.Other duties as assigned.Required Skills and Experience3-5 years of Accounts Receivable experience preferred.Prior customer service experience required.Knowledge of basic accounting principlesDemonstrated ability to effectively manage client and employee relationships.Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work and communicate with all levels of staff and management tocomplete tasks.Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.Must be comfortable working in a self-directed environment.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft WordStrong experience in managing multiple tasks and deadlines with high degree ofaccuracy.Ability to use sound judgment including maintaining confidentiality.Additional informationApply online only.
