　　RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY

　　The contractor collaborates with the Principal Investigator (Pl) and serves as an Associate Investigator on DIR clinical research protocols. The incumbent has a leadership role and significantly contributes to and manages aspects of the clinical protocol life cycle, to include planning, design, and development; collection and processing of data; data interpretation and analysis; and oral and written presentations of data related to duties and responsibilities (e.g. data related to quality of life, development of new databases, data collection techniques, etc.). The contractor will independently develop, implement, and manage key procedures & other aspects of multiple clinical research protocols within the scientific scope of NIDCR DIR program. This person will serve as the expert lead collaborator with the Principal Investigator(s) and has responsibilities that relate to clinical protocol development, implementation, coordination, and management.

　　TASKS/SERVICES

　　The contractor shall :

　　Perform clinical trials duties in accordance with standards of nursing practice and the Code of Ethics and maintain awareness of what constitutes falsification of data or other research misconduct.

　　Coordinate and implement clinical research protocols.

　　Educate and counsel patients participating in clinical trials.

　　Expert in regulatory affairs related to clinical trials research

　　Facilitate the lifecycle of clinical research trials

　　Work closely with a diverse team of health care providers to provide patient care and conduct clinical research.

　　Facilitate patient recruitment and enrollment into on-going clinical trials.

　　Ensure compliance with protocol and regulatory requirements.

　　Manage clinical research data and provide data quality assurance.

　　Promote the utilization of community resources.

　　REQUIREMENTS

　　The contractor must have :

　　Documentation (licensure) of current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a profession nurse from a state, the district of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

　　Minimum one (2) year of specialized professional Research Nursing with regulatory experience

　　Strong communications skills, both oral and written.

　　Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.

　　Ability to multi-task, set priorities and pay close attention to detail.

　　Plans, designs, and develops clinical research protocols

　　Provides specialized nursing care to cancer or other complex clinical populations in a research environment

　　Participates as multidisciplinary team member involved in clinical trials

　　Providing patient and family education and counseling

　　Providing clinical trial design, coordinating and implementing, data, and study data management

　　Evaluating trends in research study outcomes and compliance, in order to contribute to the design of research studies.
