JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the Accounting Group and all areas of financial reporting, including the month-end close, financial audits, A/P, A/R, Payroll, and sales/use tax.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage, mentor, and develop the Accounting Team (one direct report, four indirect reports). Provide daily supervision and leadership
Lead the month-end close process; prepare timely and accurate financial statements and related analysis in accordance with GAAP
Lead the annual and interim financial audits and other audits that may arise
Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies and procedures, internal controls, and systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting information to the organization in an efficient manner
Prepare ad-hoc analyses and presentations for management to deliver a comprehensive story, including bridges and variance analysis between budgets/forecasts and actual performance
Manage and prepare information requests related to the preparation of federal and state income tax returns; ensure compliance with state sales/use tax regulations and filing requirements
Coordinate and engage with Corporate Finance team to meet reporting and audit requirements and to participate in process improvement initiatives
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
Five (5) or more years in an equivalent role with a medium to large-size company
High proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, and other accounting tools
Manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Aerospace industry a plus
Strong understanding of GAAP; working knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation; experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience and interest in managing an end-to-end process, which involves multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to translate business performance and financial results; understanding and ability to articulate how the business operates
Ability to explain financial results/information to non-financial groups and individuals
Strong analytical/quantitative skills, critical thinker, and an innate curiosity to find actionable insights in a timely manner
Self-starter with a growth mindset and the ability to work in an unstructured environment, manage longer-term projects, and proactively identify solutions
Strong interpersonal skills with capability to start and maintain new relationships across many facets of the business
Excellent organizational, communication, writing, and math skills
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

Base salary range for this position is $102,687- $154,031 per year.
