About Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in the construction industry in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves a variety of tasks, including handling phone calls, processing applications, and managing paperwork related to accounts payable. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Professionally answering and transferring phone calls, including those for executive-level personnel.

• Greeting guests, answering questions, and managing incoming applications.

• Copying and filing paperwork for Accounts Payable as a secondary task.

• Sorting and stamping mail as part of daily duties.

• Utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel for daily tasks and maintaining accurate records.

• Familiarizing with office equipment such as copiers and faxes, and general office procedures.

• Managing customer credit applications and maintaining accurate records.

• Monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate actions as required.

• Proficiently handling data entry tasks and invoice processing.

• Utilizing skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Data Entry, Invoice Processing, Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP. Requirements • Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk in a construction or contractor environment.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Data Entry.

• Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Experience with Billing and Invoice Processing.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks.

• Familiarity with Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP accounting software.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial information.

• Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks.

• Strong communication skills for liaising with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.

• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding company financials.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is an asset.
