Description

We are looking for a meticulous Accounting Assistant to join our team in BALTIMORE, Maryland. The role involves processing refunds and adjustments, reviewing data, and interacting with customers to address their inquiries or concerns. This role offers a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Process refunds and adjustments for property assessment revisions, special credits, and customer overpayments

• Review various data sources to verify related payments and property transfers information

• Scan, email, and save documents to a designated electronic file, and update information in the tracking system

• Address customer inquiries and concerns, both onsite and via email or incoming calls

• Review property tax assessments and changes, evaluate whether a refund is needed, and input the refund into the tax refund system

• Review requests to modify special tax credits and modify customer property tax records

• Enter payments related to part-year property tax payments into the legacy property tax system

• Review backlog of property tax refund requests and process a refund when necessary

Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Property Tax management

• Knowledge of Low Income Tax Credit Housing (LITCH)

• Proficient in data entry tasks

• Experience in billing procedures

• Ability to process refunds accurately

• Understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
