Job Objectives: Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to create or maintain records of assets, liabilities, income, and expenses, or other financial activities. Assist with payroll computations, recordkeeping, and processing. Primary Responsibilities: Maintain financial records by gathering, recording, reconciling, and posting transaction data from multiple sources and software platforms. - Prepare or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. - Review accounts, documents, and data for discrepancies and reconcile differences. - Prepare adjusting journal entries. - Develop and maintain methods of recording, summarizing, and analyzing financial data, with an initial focus on accounting for income, receipts, and accounts receivable. - Maintain financial records by organizing and filing the documents and data that underlie our accounting processes and financial reporting. - Assist with payroll processing. - Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities, answering questions, and supervising work. - Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies by studying requirements and notifying management of potential issues and necessary actions. Skills and Qualifications: Degree in accounting or related field. - 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field; hotel experience a plus. - Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, banking and credit card processing, payroll processing, and financial reporting. - Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage 100, etc.). - Strong organizational skills. - Detail-oriented and able to multitask. - Desire to learn and build skills. - Confidentiality.
