Duties: Provide administrative-level support to the 4-H Youth Development Program in Cumberland County, responsible for coordinating and managing the comprehensive 4-H youth development program - part of a team of three program assistants, enhances the 4-H program through multiple delivery methods and audiences, assists in growing the 4-H program, particularly the numerous animal-related clubs, manages the training of adult and youth club leaders, assists in the management of financial and in-kind resources including collecting and recording fees, keeping financial records, and preparing reports as directed, manages and ensures availability of 4-H enrollment systems and databases, assists with club leader and student recruitment, designs, develops, coordinates, and evaluates 4-H events and activities to meet local needs, promotes and markets 4-H youth development activities, participates in area and statewide 4-H youth development program training sessions and updates to remain current in youth development research, 4-H programming, risk management, delivery methods and program policies
Requirements: Experience working with youth and volunteers strongly preferred, knowledge of the 4-H Youth Development Program and knowledge of and experience working with youth from kindergarten to age 19, background or experience in animal sciences, equine, livestock and pets, good organizational skills, including basic filing, storage, and alphabetizing skills, ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, ability to determine priorities and complete work in a timely manner, tact and diplomacy skills to effectively meet the needs of youth and adults, knowledge of modern office methods including experience with email and Microsoft Office products, experience with Adobe Design Suite a plus, possession of a valid New Jersey Driver's License, ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English proficiently to perform the duties of this position, proficiency, understanding and speaking of Spanish a plus
Hours: Typical work shifts are 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, shifts include a 1-hour unpaid meal break, flexibility to work some nights and weekends on an as-needed basis required, may include work outside of the office at remote locations within the county
