The Delivery Validation & Assurance team sits within IT Partner Management and is responsible for the delivery of IT capabilities via outsourced managed services and the assurance of internal IT Services across the organisation.
The primary focus is to ensure business needs are satisfied in a cost effective and timely manner aligned to the IT strategic plans whilst preserving the value of Partner engagements and following a control and compliance framework.
This hybrid role (3 days a week in the office) is available in any of the below locations :
Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham or Bristol.
What you’ll be doing
Assurance of the end to end delivery process and outcomes delivered by Partners across the organisation. Providing an auditable trail of the value delivered by the Partner. Whilst ensuring that cost, quality and time performance measures are met from a compliance and controls perspective
Assist in technical and process escalations and the subsequent improvement activity across the organisation
Act as a point of co-ordination to align delivery and test plans from Partners for Functional Delivery Activity. Provide guidance and direction to projects requiring Partner engagement. Review estimates and commitments of the effort required for specific deliverables provided by partners. Provide a point of Technical escalation for project delivery issues
Advise and guide Partner Management and Sourcing in performing benchmark exercises validating partners against the open market
Continuous assessment of the technical capability of the Partner and driving continuous improvement where necessary
Develop and maintain ‘subject matter expertise’ level of knowledge across IT applications whilst managing key partners
Maintaining a can-do attitude amidst conflicting priorities and constant change
Skills and Experience
Skills you would be expected to have:
Strong communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills, a methodical and structured approach, good documentation skills and attention to detail.
Role is specifically intended to validate Partner solutions from a commercial perspective so is critical to delivering the value of the Partner Contracts/Work.
Stakeholder Management: Able to establish and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships and facilitates mutually beneficial negotiations to develop solutions, ensuring they meet current and emerging business and technical needs.
Transformation management of legacy systems: Able to support long term changes and adapting the unit in line with the business.
Preferred to have knowledge of Agile planning tools & methodologies e.g. Jira in an IT Software Development environment.
Experience you would be expected to have:
Proven experience of incident/change management and delivering technical solutions in a diverse environment.
Experience of managing relationships with software partners and third-party development partners, of product/package selection, and of delivering those products into a production environment.
Experience of successfully delivering IT application development using clear project management techniques and Agile methodologies, employing a combination of internal and Partner-supplied resource.
Experience of Managing relationships with internal business customers.
Experience of communicating directly with and using influencing skills at senior management levels.
Experience of working in a team environment.
