  Technical Project Manager

  This is a unique opportunity for a high energy and experienced accessibility SME to help drive accessibility initiatives within Pearson: the largest publisher in the world. We need a doer, a game changer, a creative problem solver who can get things done. We are looking for someone who can advise developers and designers on best practices to deliver accessible solutions, who can delve into code, create prototypes, and dispense expert level advice.

  You’ll stay informed on the latest trends in accessibility that contribute to your role at Pearson like advances in accessible math, tactile graphics, and AI applications.

  We are a small, dedicated team of professionals with multiple responsibilities. This is NOT a QA position; while we need you to speak directly to WCAG alignment we’re more interested in the advice you can supply to creatively address difficult design and development challenges.

  Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

  The minimum full-time salary range is between $90,000 - $120,000

  Qualifications:

  WCAG 2.2 subject matter expert

  Expert knowledge of accessibility principles

  Expert level user of Assistive Technology including JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver

  Familiarity with Windows, Mac OS X, iOS and Android platforms

  CPACC, WAS or CPWA certification preferred

  Example Responsibilities:

  Audit platforms and courseware from an accessibility/usability perspective, for adherence to WCAG standards as well as usability.

  Investigate specific customer complaints issues about accessibility via course setup and manual/automated testing.

  Stay updated on industry trends in areas meaningful to the role by participating in standards bodies looking at issues like accessible math, tactile graphing and AI.

  Conduct online trainings to share best processes and new knowledge.

  Conducts internal training sessions for managers, designers, and developers on implementing accessibility into workflows and processes.

  Acts as an accessibility consultant for UX designers and engineers, providing guidance for creating accessible designs and building accessible components.

  Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  Extensive knowledge of accessibility standards and principles

  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  Ability to code and debug prototypes using HTML, CSS and Javascript

  Familiarity with JIRA

  Familiarity with Design Systems

  Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite

  Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

  Proven success in demonstrating product accessibility to diverse audiences.

  Flexibility to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

  Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments.

  Self-directed worker

  Ability to demonstrate critical and design thinking
